Mayor Soglin visits Hammersley/Theresa Area Neighborhood
Mayor Paul Soglin walked through the Hammersley/Theresa Area neighborhood from 9:00 to 11:00 this morning, Tuesday July 31, and visited with residents.  The mayor sought input from neighborhood residents on crime control, housing, traffic and children’s needs. Members of the Neighborhood Resource Team accompanied the mayor to provide additional information.

Meadowood Center Needs Supplies for School Bags
The Meadowood Neighborhood Center is looking for donations of school supplies. Just take a tag off of the board at the Center and then return the listed supplies to the Center by Monday, August 13th! Monetary donations are accepted as well.  The Center also needs plastic bags in good shape.

Kids Days Serves More Than 60 Kids
On Monday, July 30, more than 60 kids enjoyed Kids Activity Day, held on Theresa Terrace.  Activities included making a banner and pin-wheels, playing basketball, playing with play-doh, face-painting, washable tattoos, bubble wands and a performance by the Hip-Hop girls group.

Drop-in basketball at Toki Middle School
The Meadowood Neighborhood Center is sponsoring drop-in middle and high school basketball at Toki Middle School Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. There is no charge to participate. Please enter the doors off of the parking lot.

Thursday, August 2, 5 -7:30 p.m.
Last “Meet and Eat” for the Southwest Side.  Come and enjoy good food, from tacos to Mediterranean dishes, from the food carts on Raymond Road, next to the Meadowood Shopping Center. Tuesday, August 7, 1-4 p.m.
Art Cart at Huegel School.  This free outdoor art program offers a variety of individual and group art projects for children ages 3 and above. All children should be accompanied by a supervising adult. Families are invited to drop-in with no pre-registration necessary. Sponsored by the Madison Museum of Modern Art and MSCR.

Thursday, August 16, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Prairie Hills Board Meeting.  West Police District community room. Everyone welcome.  The agenda will include future programs, the start of a listserv, possible ice cream socials and the annual meeting.  Also, reports on street calming and discussions with the police department.
