Property Reevaluation
The Assessor’s Office will do a revaluation of property in Assessment Area 87, which includes a portion of the Prairie Hills Neighborhood bounded by Raymond on the North, McKenna on the west, Prairie Road on the east and Putnam on the south.  Property inspections will begin in mid-September 2013 and continue through October 2013. A revaluation is a complete and thorough review of all assessments in an area done periodically to ensure that all property is assessed at market value.
Postcards will be sent to the approximately 300 single-family property owners in this area requesting an appointment to inspect the interior and exterior of their property.  During the inspection, an appraiser will walk through the property to verify information in our records and correct any discrepancies in the data currently on file.  If you have questions, call 266-4545.

Free smoke alarms are available from the Madison Fire Department.  You must own your home, be an older adult, have young children in the home or someone with a disability.  Call 266-4709 for info or visit
