Metro Bus Transit Changes went into effect Sunday, August 23. For a complete list of changes, go to: mymetrobus.com/updates.

The Transit subcommittee of Dane County’s Board of Supervisors wants to know how the county might support and/or enhance public transit  in Dane County. While supporting some  services for people with disabilities and seniors, the county does not as yet fund or provide any general public transit services in the metropolitan area.

EVENTS

Monday, Aug. 24  2:00-3:15 p.m. Kids Cook! For ages 5-8. Participants learn to snip, cut and grate as they create their own spring roll. Monday, Aug. 24  4:00-5 Kids Cook! for ages 9-12.  Participants will use natural red foods to create delicious dishes with an Italian flare. Recipes will include Tomato-Basil Bruschetta with Garlic-Parmesan Flatbread, and Raspberry-Ricotta Mousse. Meadowridge Library.

Wednesday, Aug. 26  11:30-1:00 p.m.  Free Bike Clinic in front of Meadowridge Library.  Come get a free tune-up.

Wednesday, Aug. 26 3:00 p.m.  Back-to-School Minecraft Pary.  Make crafts and more and take turns playing Minecraft on our local servers. Snacks provided.

Thursday, Aug. 27  12-2:00 p.m.  Job Club at the Meadowood Neighborhood Center.  Hospitality Day.  Meet with employers in hospitality businesses.

Thursday, Aug. 27  4:30 – 6:00 p.m.  Back to School Picnic at Huegel Elementary School.  Find out who your child(ren)’s teacher(s) will be, drop off school supplies, get a hot dog and meet other families.

Friday, Aug. 28  5:30-9:30 p. m.  Dane Dances.  At Monona Terrace. Great dancing & eclectic food. Connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Lake Vista Cafe open. Food vendors open. Cocktails available for purchase  at 5 p.m. Picnic baskets welcome.
