Break-ins.  There have been house break-ins in the Westbrook, Piedmont, South Prairie Road and Stratford area.  Be on the look-out and report any suspicious activity to the police.  If it is ongoing, call 911.  Also, be sure to have lights going on and off when you are away.

Secure websites. Ever wonder if a website you’re looking at is secure? If the URL starts with “https” rather than “http.” The “s” stands for secure.  Also, most modern browsers will highlight the “https” in green, the entire URL in green, or show the website identification to the left of the URL in green.

Halloween Info.  Trick or treating is generally from 4 – 8 p.m. on Halloween.  Put your porch light on if you want scary visitors.  Wednesday 3-6 there’s a downtown Halloween night at State St. and the Capitol Square for families and kids 12 and under.  Lots of good stuff.
