Stolen cars.  Car theft is increasing in the area.  Lock your cars, even in the driveway.  Do not put spare keys in the glove compartment (in case you forget to lock your car).  If you see an unfamiliar car parked in your neighborhood for a while, notify the police.  Stolen cars are also being dumped in our neighborhood.
Volunteer.  Community Connections is looking for volunteers for many volunteer jobs, contact Jan Karst for more information at or 608-441-7891.  Here are examples:  work as a cashier, stocker, or unloading donated materials at the Habitat for Humanity Restore;  Deliver Mail and Flowers at St. Mary’s Hospital or help sort, label, or package food into family-friendly portions for distribution for Second Harvest Food Bank.
Elder Abuse Awareness Day is Thursday.  Events this week include: a program  on WORT’s Access Hour on Monday at 7:00pm and WPR’s Larry Mriller show on Tuesday at 11:00am.

Wed., June 14  6:00-7:30pm  Madison College South Campus Initiative Community Meeting.  This is the first community meeting to gather input for the new south campus.  At the Urban League Community room, 2222 South Park.
Thurs. June 15  5:30-7:30pm  Carts for Community at Meadowood Park. Every week different food carts will be coming to the park.  Costs are $5 or less with some vouchers available.  The event will also feature music, kid’s activities and some free produce.
