Theft from autos.  Theft from autos is down about 15% but it is still a problem. More than 25 guns were stolen this year from autos, many of them unlocked!   Please remember NOT to  leave guns in parked cars. And LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS!! Keep valuables out of sight.  If you are holiday shopping, keep your gifts in your trunk.
 
Yard Waste collection.  According to the map, they are working in our neighborhood right now, collecting yard waste and leaves.  You can check your address if you go to https://www.cityofmadison.com/streets/yardWaste/schedules.cfm and click on the map.

Tues., Nov. 14  9-11 am  Coffee Klatch Common Wealth Development is hosting a Coffee Klatch at their new satellite office, 5902 Raymond Rd.  Common Wealth will be working in Southwest Madison on a safe neighborhood program, as part of a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.  Stop by for coffee, tea or water to meet staff and ask questions about the program.
 
Tues., Nov. 14  6-8 pm  Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner at the Elver Park Neighborhood Center (1201 McKenna).  Family-friendly actives and a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner.  All welcome. Sponsored by Elver Park and Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Centers.
 
Tues., Nov. 14  7-8:30 pm Discussion of Snow by Orhan Pamuk.  Join the Tuesday Evening Book Group for a discussion of a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction (generally older titles). The next title will be available for pick-up following the discussion, with extra copies available at the reference desk while supplies last. No discussion in December, our next discussion will be on January 9, 2018.  At the Alicia Ashman Library.

Wed., Nov. 15 4-5pm   Season of Shadows.  Make messes and play with light at Meadowridge Library! Join Alaura Borealis in building metaphors and cultivating feelings with light boxes, shadow puppets, projectors, movie making, and more. Experiment with shadow art during this youth-focused residency.  For the whole family.
 
Thurs., Nov. 16  4-6pm   Speed Dating for adults over 60.  At the Concourse Hotel.  Women will be assigned to a seat and men will rotate around the tables for six-minute chats.  Pre-registration is required.  Deadline Nov. 10. $5 cost.
 

Sun., Nov. 19  1:30-3:30pm   Sunday Jazz at Sequoya.  The Dalton Gang Girls is a four piece combo playing music from the great American Songbook, some jazz standards and much more. In the large meeting rooms off to the side from the “Ask Here” desk at the Sequoya Library.

The sale  lasts until all pies have been sold. Many different varieties, all  at $10.00 each. Proceeds benefit the Meadowridge Branch Library.
